Heres some ideas, In this setting, since the roads are constantly being creeped on by wilderness, roadwardens are often trained by all the major civilisations. These usually go from settlement to settlement, clearing or maintaining the road, scouting ahead, exchanging letters and messages between places. There are a couple roadwarden academies that are not government-affiliated, too.
Most roadwardens are usually rangers but are also often rogues or warriors. There are also other classes though. Its not only for rangers (especially cause rangers kinda suck in dnd lol) On a similar vein, there are various traveling caravans, traders or even circuses. These require a protecting hand, and usually have an escort. Military and security is important for any civilisation, since as we've established, wilderness is dangerous and ever-creeping. The common term for guards that protect the edges of their settlements is Warders, and they are usually warriors, but can again be of any class. There's also wars! As the saying goes, Polemos, Goddess of Conflict makes sure theres always at least one war going on. Spies, assassins, tactitians, soldiers, these are all options, as usual :). For all you sneaky people, the gods Psema, Moon of Thieves, Motus, God of Motion and Atmos, Moon of Illusions are usually worshipped by pickpockets and no-gooders.
