In this setting, the weave was created by Auro, God of the Weave, the sort of magical background upon which all mortals can channel magic. However, this weave is not brainless, it is known that the weave has a sort of collective sapience to it, and has many quirks and unexpected twists. Much like wizards, there are bard academies, that train bards to make compelling music and art. If wizards manipulate the weave by forcing it or exploiting its repeatable quirks, bards manipulate the weave by inspiring it or moving it emotionally via their music!

There are many who worship Zheyli, God of Emotions or the Chime, God of Music and Art , but they are of course not bound to any given deity.
