Ignis

Ignis is commonly known as the goddess of civilization, and the bringer of fire. Other varied interpretations deem her as the deity of fire, order, societal structures or royalty. The goddess of civilization, overall, is seen as a Lawful Neutral deity within the Major Circle.

She is represented as a tall fire genasi figure with a beautiful yet regal crimson and maroon unwrinkled dress, her magma-like hair falling perfectly cleanly and neatly upon her shoulders, and irises a piercing purple.   Ignis is the pillar and face of civilization, commonly said to have brought the first communities alongside Kyun, Goddess of Hearth, her betrothed.

To this day, every settlement, town, or city that wishes to be safe against the forces of wilderness maintains a brazier that has been lit by Ignic Fire, which is a divine-infused fire that takes an orderly and triangular shape. This fire alone is enough to stave off the worst of the wilderness and magical dangers lurking outside of its range.

Whenever a city or settlement is conquered, it is usually a symbol of the settlement's fate whether or not the brazier is extinguished, representing the end of it if it is extinguished.

Additionally, settlements of all sorts use specific brazier plates, altars and temples depending on the major deities worshipped by the people/government. As is often the case in Janloon, sacrifices (usually food, goods, etc) to please gods are common, and sacrifices from settlements are usually done via the Ignic Fire.   The Ignic Fire has various special properties that are clearly visible to anyone who lays eyes on it, seeing how clean and triangular-looking it seems. It is recounted that elemental fire too used to be always clean, predictable, and non-destructive, almost static in its neat heat-source state. It would not destroy buildings or ravage lands, and thus, it was humanity's best and most useful tool for progress. However, this changed when the fire nation attacked Sirtas, God of Liberations, her son, rebelled against her. For more information, see his page.   It is known that when the Major Circle has reached an impasse in any given decision (as they are an even quantity of deities), it is Ignis' vote which makes the ultimate decision.

Tenets

The main tenet of Ignis is as follows,

Other common tenets include,

Afterlife

Ignis offers the Queen's Mansions, an afterlife full of luxuries, social intrigue, and beautiful architecture in the form of a never-ending palace. It is often said that any royalty is guaranteed access to this afterlife, but many argue that being royalty does not in fact guarantee it, but rather, the effectiveness of one's rule, and how they helped civilization progress and improve.

Conversely, it is also known that not only royalty is allowed into this afterlife, but also any loyal guards or hardworking bureaucrats and workers. It is a hard afterlife to be accepted into, but the devout often say that if one has contributed to an overall positive effect on their civilization, they would be allowed entry. Once within, many are allowed to continue their hard work for civilization if they would rather that over the luxuries and social intrigue, working as bureaucrats or guards in this afterlife.

Worship

Her holy symbol is two upside-down triangles inside a circle, one triangle within the other and centered. The corners of the larger triangle meet the circle's edge. Usually, the inner triangle is of an orange hue, what shows of the larger triangle is of a red hue, and what shows of the circle is a purple hue.   Primo Igne Mansion is recognized as the oldest church, and one of the only churches to Ignis.
